One taste and there was no turning back. The gas fired steel drum roaster from was delivered, installed, and first ignition was sparked on a back porch in 2004.
Increased demand, coffee smoke drifting through the neighborhood, and getting downsized from a “real job” forced us in 2008 to set up in the back room of an art gallery on Cherry Street in Grand Rapids East Hills Neighborhood. We began in earnest roasting coffee for a growing list of quality independent restaurants searching for the absolute best.
In 2010 we upgraded our equipment to a larger and more efficient coffee roaster on Grand Rapids’ Historic Wealthy Street. The neighborhood and Grand Rapids has never been the same. We have been roasting coffee in Grand Rapids for 8 years but it seems like we just got started. There’s a long way to go and a lot to learn.
