Rowster Coffee Operates around a simple idea:
Great coffee doesn’t happen
by accident it’s meant to
be shared.
Our name, Rowster (pronounced “rō-ster”), was inspired by the waters around our hometown of Grand Rapids. Whether it’s rowing down the Rogue River, renting kayaks at Riverside Park, or fishing at Sixth Street Dam, water has always been part of life here. It felt like a fitting name for a company built in this place!
Our Approach to Coffee
Rowster started over two decades ago as a one-person passion project in the back of a local gallery. While we’ve grown since then, the way we approach coffee hasn’t changed.
We care about where our coffee comes from, how it’s roasted, and all the steps in between. Knowing that a great cup comes from sweating the details, staying curious, and always looking for ways to make better coffee!
OUR CAFÉ & COMMUNITY
Our café on Wealthy Street, which opened in East Town in 2010, has become a favorite local spot whether you’re grabbing your morning coffee, meeting a friend, or checking out art and events from local creators.
Rowster beans also fuel cafés, restaurants, and grocery stores throughout Michigan. We love seeing our coffee become a part of people’s daily routines, whether it’s brewed fresh in local shops or enjoyed at your kitchen table!
